Boy Crisis - Tulipomania
Boy Crisis was a Brooklyn based electro pop quintet consisting of members Tal Rozen, Alex Kestner, Victor Vazquez, Lee Pender, and Owen Roberts.
In 2008, The Guardian described the group as “the hottest electronic pop group to emerge from America since, ooh, MGMT at least”. The band’s debut album was scheduled to hit the stores in 2009 via B-Unique Records. However, Tuliopomania never came out. Instead, internal problems with the record label put an end to the project.
Boy Crisis is no more, but the music lives on. As Tulipomania was never made available for sale, you can have it here for free.

Kool A.D. - That Other Other Shit EP - 2008 release
More mysterious than a vinyl from Fierce or Dr. Becket, Kool A.D. is an enigma that continues to surprise me. What other rapper can possibly respond to an interview while rolling a joint for hours and clothed with a girl dress? Who else can make weird and hilarious remixes with improbable titles such as “I think I just saw a Dolphin”? And who the hell makes references to Guy Debord in a rap video?
Yeah. A guy like this has to be interesting.
In addition to his intriguing sound cloud page and his totally absurd/meaningful (you choose) short films that would make Quentin Dupieux deadly jealous, Kool A.D. has also released countless enigmatic projects. As long as you are a little curious, some of them deserve your ear.
That is the case of « That Other Other Shit – EP ». Produced by Kool A.D., Ben Sinclair, Powmod and Lil Ben, this 2008 release is way more than a joke and has some pretty interesting tracks. Give it a listen and make your own opinion.
